I pretty much gave up on trying to leap ahead of the flock a loooong time ago (2 decades ago? high school was unpleasant), for most purposes, I also stopped following. I won't say that I am a rabid anti-conformist, hell bent on scoffing at those who may be all consumed with trends but there have been times I could be mistaken as one... Mainly when I see people flock to a certain trend that makes them look utterly retarded because I know these things are costly, short lived moments of shame no one will admit to bowing to minutes after the next 'must-have' rolls on out. I buy what I like, I wear what's comfortable, and if that should just happen be what's hot, the thrill is lost on me.
