I ordered a camera Sunday night. It may possibly get here tomorrow, probably Wednesday, definitely Thursday. It looks like this:
I was shown hyper expensive models with half it's zoom or less. With over the top features. They'd fit in your pocket, undies or brazier... Your choice. I didn't want those. Pockets are little pits of doom for me. It I've put it in a pocket, it's come out scratched or worse or perhaps I accidentally washed it. Fuck that.
Also, I wanted a camera that had a zoom. I considered DSLR, but I really don't have that kind of budget and I don't know when I would. I also wanted something I could ease into. My sister has a smaller Lumix and my little niece runs around and snaps pictures and edits on it and stuff... What not to love about that?
This camera also doesn't require proprietary memory, but it does have a battery pack that's probably model specifc. Can't win all the wars eh?
I wanted to get this camera because most of my family will be getting together and I don't want to say to myself "I wish I just bought that damned camera!!!" I'm tired of film, disposables, and paying for doubles and triples and losing negatives. This is the first relatively harmless decision I've made.
The lenses are made by one of the best in the field, the apeture is pretty wide which will help gather in some extra light. It has a viewfinder for your eye that's actually a screen and the package came with a 2 gb sd card. I could have gotten a tripod, case, extra battery, and more... But like I said. On a budget. I most likely will pay this off once I *need* to get a new muffler for the car or *have* to go to the dentist. *knocks on wood*.
