If any of you out there are like me... Who regularly burned old files you didn't need... Check 'em out. I almost can't believe these are pics of me, but they are.
So, I then switched to a dark dark brown --------->
Then it was too dark. So I darkened it even more... underflorescent lights and sunshine it was purple. That was just me being ridiculous and enjoying every minute of it.
I've recently come to think that people who have are going to have to STFU.
Now, I don't think purple will ever make a come back... Not on purpose. It fricken turned reddish color that I wasn't too keen on. I admit... Brown was dark, but it wasn't bad. When it comes to color vs. bleach... I liked the results of a good bleaching... it nicely obscures the gray. I learned that I should never ever do it on my own. I burned my scalp doing it and it was ... so wrong.
I don't really have a problem with my prematurely gray hair... I have a problem with people who focus on it because it happens a lot and often. (OH MY GOD! look at all the GRAY IN YOUR HAIR! How'd it get so gray??! I'm so TOTALLY OLDER than you and you're GRAYER THAN ME!) The comments and shitty conversation from the amount of gray hair I have exhausts me. I get more talk about it graying than when it was purple (not that it stopped people from staring... no... now they had to stare and would try disparately not to get caught. or talk about it as much as if it were gray. looking back... What I noticed really ought to have been a subject of one of sociology papers.) I was even told that the particular way I grayed meant I was due for some money and looked regal (by my well-to-do aunt who hasn't ever revealed a single gray hair)...
The whole hair affair is silly. The only time I thought messing with hair color was a BAD thing was when Shirley Manson of Garbage went "Gwen" blond but that's mostly because her original hair color was part of why I lusted for her (and still do). So, if any of you out there feel like screwing with your hair color, so long at it doesn't cost comfort or financial security, do it. Take pictures, try different things... And compare it because then you learn what works for you. If you've shaved your head, it most likely works for you, rock it with confidence and pride knowing you've moved past wondering what to do with it.
Me? I'm due a hair cut. It's too long for my liking. I'm thinking I'll leave the color be for now and get it cut like it was in the purple days.
