What do you do EVERY day to take care of the earth's environment? What could you do more of?
Not enough. I try to cut down on disposable cups. Bring my own. I don't litter. I don't believe in pesticides, we have a "natural lawn", lol.
There are a similar model parked by me, took one spot and we both had ample room to open our doors. I'm not totally hateful of SUV, just the worst of the breed and those who buy them that buy into every stereotype that comes with them. I hate shit like this and there are so many fuckers out there doing it.
I wanted to print something and some problem betweem the computer and printer prevented me from getting it done and getting to bed earlier. Shit wouldn't print. I opened the print dialog, canceled prints, reprinted, turn the power on, run diagnostics, printed, nothing. Rebooted the computer -- printed everything I had asked. After a reboot. Strange.
As the April 15th tax filing deadline looms, many gay couples are facing higher tax bills because they do not get the federal tax benefits that accompany marriage. The same is true for heterosexual couples who chose not to get married. Do you think this is fair?
Well shit sherlock, are taxes fair at all?
I pay them for most things year around, then I pay them at the end of the year. I understand the country needs it and so long as it's put to good use, awesome; however, it isn't always.
That being said, I don't think it's fair. I also don't think it's fair that if you consolidate everything, you take your mate's credit score, unless you intentionally do otherwise.
What do you want to be famous for?
Submitted by bluemoon07.
What an amazing question. Good for you bluemoon07.
I wanted to be famous for sculpting. I got off to a good start. I starting honing some shit before I graduated. I worked quick and feared no failure.
Now I have no access to mill nor kiln. That and glass seems to steal the show. Thing is me and some of my friends, we could do some shit with clay that would make any glass blower/sculptor piss their pants. I even wanted to get into slumping over forms - I hear it's some tricky shit. I'd love the challenge.
Time flies by so fast.
I spent a while tonight getting estimates for a trip I'm taking later this year.
My oldest niece is getting married.
This isn't titled "the myth of forever" because of matrimony. It's called that because I had such a hard time accepting that she was old enough to vote, to drink, to drive, to graduate from college (which is coming before the wedding) and to get married. I remember she stood up on her own without needing to hold on for the first time when I was visiting 20-something years ago. I remember how she struggled to say "meow" for the first time and not too long after, she spat out fully formed sentences and unbelievable questions for a child at her age.
We don't have forever to do the things we mean to do. We don't have the fortune of being able to go back. We can't have a real second chance. Time's moving on, we're all getting older, and we have to learn to accept every little bit of life. The good, the bad, the ugly, the laughter, the fits of sadness that leave our weeping eyes red and swollen. It's not going to slow down, even when things are at their worst and they can't end soon enough -- time's flying past us. It doesn't care how strongly we want things to last and it always proves that forever is a myth and now is always almost behind us, never to happen again.
I think she's got it right. I think she's found someone she loves dearly. I'm no longer going to think "but she's too young," because what do I know? These days, I know one thing's for sure... I don't have forever.
Have you ever been skinny dipping?
Yes. It's great and all, but it makes me a little nervous.
I went to my favorite deli and ordered two orders of chicken fingers with fries with two sodas. The total came to $17.60.
The guy cashing me out stopped and looked at the calculator quizzically.
Cashier: No, this isn't write... *type type type*
(I stand adding it all in my head, it is)
Cashier: Uh, oookay, I guess it is right. Doesn't seem right.
Me: With the price of gasoline and our current "economic situation", nothing seems right.
Cashier: *sighs* yeah.
I wasn't too shocked at the price, each item had it's own charge. I usually order combos from there and it may be $6-7, but The chicken tenders were $5 per order. Fries were $1.50 per order. Sodas were $1.25 + deposit per order. The only reason why I ordered that way was because my niece loves chicken tenders. Sounded good to me too. they were pretty good.
There's nothing I hate more than watching people bring their infants and children to get their ears pierced when they do not ask for it.
I saw a few women hover over, pin, and pierce the ear of child that couldn't even walk yet. If this is something you're considering WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? If you're older, approached by people, pinned and abused it's a crime, but this isn't? I know, infants and children get inoculations, but this is different. This kid's ears weren't pierced in a clean environment... They weren't pierced by anyone who has taken an oath to do no harm. Is it worth the risk of infection to have your kid wear some stupid studs? Do you like treating your kids like accessories? because, you are. They only want and need to be loved, fed, bathed and have their pampers changed, they don't want a cubic zirconium in their ear. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?
Thank you.
What are your neighbors like? (The ones you live near or next to, not the ones in your Vox neighborhood!)
I live in a highly diverse neighborhood with great people. Most everyone is approachable and friendly. When my sister went to school not too far from here, they labeled our section "the working poor" and tbh, it's not far from the truth. We do alright, but I think we all struggle.
I don't feel like spreadin' other people's biz and a majority of them would feel the same way. We're friendly, outgoing, we have conversations and laugh. We don't have BBQs, although once in a while we'll sit on each others porches and talk (Usually the family diagonally from us).
The area we live in isn't prosperous, the area surrounding us is a collections of "sections", a few blocks down, you have the upper middle class or wealthy, to the then it's pockets of curiosity from there. On the other side of the park from us, it's not as nice or safe. It's weird to be so close to areas where drugs, shootings, and stabbings occur. Maybe it's the norm these days.
