I finished my taxes tonight and I feel happy to have this out of the way. It doesn't necessarily mean it's over, nuh-uh, but for the time being, it's out of my hands. I was a bit disappointed with the amount I'll be getting in a return and I expect no, I'm on the edge of demanding an economic stimulus check... :-/ In the past I've gotten everything back because I didn't earn enough, this year, I'm getting a smaller fraction of what was taken and for the record, I earned less than 20 thousand dollars (see, told you I was underpaid... by A LOT). Sad thing is I hear people say how they have plans for their returns... Vacations, presents, whatever... My plans are along the ling of car repairs and savings.
Where did I go wrong and how do I get right? Nothing seems right.
How old were you when you had your first "official" boyfriend or girlfriend? What was he/she like?
I was about 16 almost 17. She was sweet. She came from a family that was close to breaking up and they were nice but they had their difficulties. Her and I had fun and we didn't take anything too seriously. I'd have to say we were closer to being best friends.
A coworker showed me Pandora, a free internet radio site. To explain how it works with the story behind it, I'd have to type more than I want to tonight.
Basically, you go and type in your favorite band's name and it makes an effort to match other tunes to your liking. you tweak it by approving or disapproving the tracks given. I entered Queens of the Stone Age and I haven't heard a single song from it I disliked! Some were ... so, so... but it's still better than finding internet stations or listening to radio live.
Go check it out. If you want to friend me on it, or "track my musical tastes/discoveries" whatever, let me know.
I heard from friends how they loved Applebee's , I saw tons of commercials over the years, so today I took my Mom out to one. It was lousy. Even if the food got to us when it was hot, I wouldn't have liked it.
How do you fuck up a hamburger? Seriously! Dry, overcooked, the meet seemed almost its prime and despite the bacon, onion ring, and bbq sauce, it was pretty bland.
BOOO! Maybe it was just this restaurant, but I don't get how they're successful chain.
What do you bring most to a friendship?
Everything I can. I bring me.
What do you think is too serious to joke around about?
I was attacked 8 and a half years ago and some people I knew thought it was funny. You'll notice how I didn't refer to them as friends.
Violence isn't funny.
Show us a beverage you absolutely can't stand the taste of.
For kicks I tried some of the of the drinks marketed at kids. It's liquid crack.
America: if your kids relies on this for juice, they may not have ADHD. trust me.
Listening to this made me happy.
What do you most hate sharing with other people?
I try not to be stingy but sometimes, mine is mine. That's pretty rare though TBH... If you're a complete stranger, I might not be so inclined to share certain things. I'd rather hand you a five and tell you to go buy yer own! (okay, maybe no because I don't make too much money)
On Sunday, the U.S. death toll in the Iraq war reached 4,000. What is your reaction to this sobering milestone in this 5-year-old war?
Pure depression and helplessness. What could I possibly say? What could any of us ever possibly do to make up for this? While this depresses me, I take into consideration the entire death toll. I wouldn't call it sobering, it's horrifying. We live on a weird planet, we wage wars for reasons that aren't as valuable as the lives that have been erased. Dead 'enemies' can never learn. You need to know that I understand war, I'm the proud son of a deceased multi war veteran. It just hurts to think that so many people ceased to exist because of this.
I hope this comes to a resolution soon. I hope peace can be achieved. I hope, in the future, we're lead by governments that are wiser and more willing to seek alternatives to war.
