Me
Me

Today was the last day of a job I liked a lot.  It wasn't exciting but it help me exit some "bad times".

It was the perfect thing for me at the time.  I had and stuck to a schedule.  I caught up on my bills and even paid things off.  I made new friends.   I ate a lot of delicious Japanese food -- noodles mostly.  God I love miso soup and edamame.

I am kind of bummed, really tired, and had some sort of cocktail I created to drink.  It's got plenty of stuff in it and I'm a wee bit buzzed.  The stuff was cheap and I will have a hangover before you know it.  Fret not.  I will hate booze again in no time.

I am dog sitting for my sister.  She's got a German Shepard and she's wonderful.  I call her my 7th niece.  Today I fed her some of the chicken I made for Quesadillas and taught her how to say hello.  Someone then texted me on my cell phone and it freaked her out.  She mistook it for a door bell and ran to whatever door we were closest to.  I knew then that I was 'loved' by her because she didn't want any strangers around me.  I love this dog.  My sister's scared her dog might love me more than them by the time they come back... I doubt it.  She's a smart dog with a lot of room in her heart for people that love her as we do.

I want to go to a party tomorrow, but my friends stuck in retail hell helping her store and her comrades recoup from the iPhone craze.

I bought season 6 of Buffy, thus effectively completing my DVD collection.  I feel season 6 is highly underappreciated by people who've never endured the darker periods of life (not everyone has them I suppose, since this can be true... I feel myself along with a select group of unlucky others have twice as much storm clouds and deluges to just balance that shit out*).  I can't wait to see it, but my sister has digital cable and they've got like 20 episodes of Naruto on demand... And high speed cable access.  Wheee!

I'm really tired and buzzed and kind of bummed but there's so much to do and see!  And and... Listen to...!

QotD: My Movie Cliché Moment

What movie cliché would you most like to live out in real life?
Submitted by Wes.

The breakfast club definitely.  I'd totally be sitting at Ally Sheedy's table while winking at her constantly.  I'd even wave a bottle of Fleischmans if that didn't work... Cliche!?  Not clique?! That wasn't a clique either? Hmm. ALRIGHTY!

If people aren't thinking or posting that they'd want to replace star or body double X in sex scene from movie Y, they're ... Probably posting or thinking of more appropriately thought out things than I am!

Are the fight/makeout with catwoman in Tim Burton's Batman movies Cliche?

Rather than the shocked look on Batman's face when she's kickin' him around I'd more or less:

Batbob: SMILE, That is so hot.  Can I be your minion?
Catwoman:  you're not scared of a strong scene stealing woman?
BB: No, They turn me on.
CW: Huh.
BB: Yeah.
CW: *Slumps posture disappointingly*  Now what?
BB: Uh, Tell you what... You just go there and do that and I'll just go along.  K?
CW: where were we?
BB  You were "owning" me... I was supposed to be like WTF?
CW: Okay.  *Bitchslap*
BB's: eyes widen with WTF stare... Smirk develops.
CW: *sigh*... I... I just can't do this.  You like this too much!
BB:  But I respect you too...
CW: Where's the fun in that?

*end scene*

QotD: Best Text Ever

What's the best text message you've ever gotten?

I have never been massaged by text...  But this one time, this girl I knew who I liked who ended up falling in love with someone else gave me a massage that that made me yelp out like I had never ever before.  Just by hitting a pressure point on my back... SRSLY!

Message?  OH.  TXT MESSAGE?!  How Boring.

QotD: Grown-Up Boot Camp

What are three things you want to learn, and three things you can teach others to do?
Submitted by bookishbiker.

Wanna Learn:
- Sign language.  A few times in my life, I've been approached by people who signed and I really wished I knew what they were telling me.  I think that was the point!
- Conflict resolution. I learned some but it feels general. Not quite the types or scope I'd like.
- Scuba.

Teach:
- Better communication skills, including listening and comprehension.
- Computer/tech skills (combined with learning):  I do it, but the people I'd like to teach most aren't very receptive... (we're all bound by a common notion of complication... The trick is to absorb and process, ask questions and absorb again if need be.  I only say this because I hear "ah well, see, it's easy for you -- you're smart!"  And, okay... I'm no too shabby when it comes to learning. But it doesn't mean I haven't worked at it!)
- I dunno... You choose.

I was selected to watch a program that may or may not hit the air in the future.  I was a test audience person subject or whatever.

I kind of felt excited when they chose me, I thought: how cool is this?  It might be an awesome show and I'll have been the -first- to have seen it!

Fucking, no fucking such fucking luck.

I fit an important demographic.  18-34 year old males.  I think perhaps my opinion might be an 'outlier' in this study, but lets keep our fingers crossed it's not!

I don't know how much I can really divulge, like it being family centric with currently overused and stereotyped characters.  Idiot husband, gorgeous wife, sarcy teen, brainy tween, silly best friend, and a few wall flower characters that seem to stand out better than the rest (who ought to have a show built around them).  I admit I didn't hate the characters and the actors were relatively unknown (aside from 2) but they played their roles well; however, I didn't laugh as much as anyone intended but I did laugh... Mainly at the few minor characters who had the best lines.

I know the formula is tried and true.  I know anyone who watches and laughs as this carbon copied crap will -adore- it but I wouldn't miss paint drying if I had to choose what to do during the time slot.  I'm a hard sell with sitcoms sometimes but especially with cliche crap like this. There is still genuine originality out there, just waiting to be discovered.

I was the hammer...

Who drove the last nails into our temporary job today.  I feel certain that I've got the highest quota.

1/2 an hour after I left... The office building I work at was evacuated because there may have been a fire on one of the other floors.  My coworker told me they weren't letting anyone in the building but for how long?  Dunno!  I hope only the evening.  If I had one chance to go back in -- it'd be for the pictures I left.  They're all pretty special to me.

It's been a really hot week.  It hasn't bothered me until now.  I'm tired of sticking to things already.

I was invited to a party this weekend and I want to go, but I don't have a reasonable way to get there.  Someone offered to give me a ride if I spend half the day taking buses to get to the other side of Syracuse and -how- I'd get home ... That'd be another problem.  I'm paperwork and an auto mechanic away from driving. but I said "I'm not running around like a chicken with my head cut off for it".  I also partied all last weekend -- graduation parties and even though it's great to get out and hang with people... If I have to go through a hassle to do it, I won't be in good spirits.

Blah... I'm tired.  Having to go to work to find out if I can go to work tomorrow is going to be... *shakes head* I'll just make lemonade.

By the way... Pepsi's new zero cal soda "Pepsi Max" is excellent.  It has ginseng in it.  Also lack the Dt. Pepsi funky taste.

QotD: Worst. Hairstyle. Ever.

What was your worst hairstyle decision ever?

The.  Bowl.  Cut.

It got suuuper long, hung past my eyes.  It was the shaggy dog look and for some reason... I thought it was the best look for me.  Then, I put it in a pony tail and nearly laughed myself into a coma!

I walked into a hair place the next day and said "take it allll away".  It was in a bowl cut for such a long time that the change shocked people.  Professors stopped teaching their classes and paused to compliment me even though I sat in no mans land.  I don't regret it though.  I had fun with that ridiculous cut for years.

QotD: The Never-Ending Boat Ride

  • Jun 25, 2007
  • Post a comment

What's the longest boat ride you've ever been on?

In my mind, this question is one that is purely relative to the situation...

My brother-in-law brilliantly loaded a powerboat with myself, his mom, my mom, my sisters, his kid, my sisters kid, and any other person who could possibly hang on and took the boat from a protected harbor rivermouth into Ontario Lake which had 3-5 foot white cappin' waves that day. He thought it would be alright.

The journey there and back might have been quite short but it felt like hours because it was so unpleasant and pretty dangerous.

I suppose we should all take considerable demerits for getting in the boat, though, I don't think we expected him to take that f*cking trip as far as it went.
