What's your favorite blend or brand of coffee or tea?

I like French roasts, Italian roasts, bold roasts from Starbucks. I think one of my favorites they brew is a komodo dragon blend of something. I'm one of those bastards you can't pass a shitty blend of coffee on. People have tried and witnessed my coffee wince. It isn't pretty and can't be helped. My sister and brother-in-law, after years of serving me folgers or whatever she could get a large tin of for $1.99 finally gave in and give Starbucks a shot. They've never gone back. At least all the way back. It's not exclusively a Starbucks thing as it is a quality thing.

Trust me, my coffee affliction is so deep rooted that if all that there is to suck down is some envelope glue flavored blend swept from the filthy floor trafficked by filthy vermin (or possibly even remnants of coffee excreted by them) of the fear factor variety, I'll drink it and wince proudly.

Tea: I like Earl Grey, Rooibos blends, green tea, and a few other blends that don't make my stomach feel sick.

I'm in need of a good day. The last three haven't been so great.

Sat going into Sun, I slept almost twelve hours and didn't feel like getting up at all. I felt completely ripe with headache and bitterness.

I completely fucking lost it when someone treated a hardcover book of mine as a food tray -- getting one side a little wet from laying it in water under a dish rack and smudged all up with grease stains. Did I go overboard? Kind of, but if that someone might have done the same had I done it to one of their books. In retrospect, I only wish I didn't throw the book like a ninja weapon! Yelling was fine in and of itself. (Just for clarification, an adult did this)

Two hours after that incident, I went back to bed, got up, went back to bed, ect... I finally got up to leave my room Monday at 12:34pm -- again, not wanting to get out of bed.

I sat here, there, and everywhere feeling completely achy and at times tired. Earlier, I went to the store just to get the fuck out. I sat here, reading and browsing and just realized...

It's past 4am.

So, tomorrow, I'm going to the mall so capitalism, slow walking mall rats, and fast food and have a chance at pissing me off. Hopefully. If I can peel myself out of bed.

That would probably be Daryl Hannah and the reason would be "Splash". Which was before the Tom Hanks dislike set in. There's also Lynda Carter, you could call that a kid crush. Pat Benatar, the singer crush... Erin Gray, from Buck Rogers... Sigourney Weaver, because she was the first star I saw in her panties and since I wanted more I got to see more in some of her previous movies. Ah... The starving artist days.

Undead

My niece and I watched Undead today, an Australian zombie horror flick. It was bloody, silly, offered a different spin on the genre and fun. If you're looking for a horror film of the zombie genre, I recommend it as a rental. I will say that I didn't think it was frightening, mainly because of the silliness.

What are your favorite weird food combinations?

I've always found my favorite food combos that would be considered weird to many would be ones I've had that borrow from different cultures. I once had wasabi ice cream with pineapple and coconut (I had this at a Cold Stone). I've also had red bean ice cream and some wonderful lotus bean sundae or ice cream or smoothie from great Asian restaurants. Another ethic treat that came from our family is noodles and prunes. The prunes are stewed and the noodles are fried with breadcrumbs and butter (It's so fucking good, but I bet you're just reading that in disgust aren't ya?). Also, there was their hot chocolate bar I got at Target made by Choxie that had chipotle in it... It was SOOO good.

I spent part of this week watching cartoons with my youngest niece while she was out from school. Digital Cable is like crack... While there is more stuff I wouldn't watch on it, there's always at least a handful of things I would! We had a ball watching The Avatar, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ben 10, Pokemon, Spongebob Squarepants, as well as many oldies on Boomerrang like Top Cat, Pink Panther, The Jetsons and that old cartoon featuring an Aardvark... I can't seem to recall the title. Anyways, I had a great time having her fill me in on story lines from Avatar, have silly debates over which cartoon characters were smarter, making ramen for lunch and playing with her Nintendo portables, which, every so often she'd bring over and ask "can you beat this for me?" She liked having an old school gamer crack the tougher parts of Super Mario 3 for her. She also managed to confiscate one of my Metroid games while she spent time at our house. She loves playing it, but to really play it you have to read which she didn't want to do at first.

One of my older nieces was also home from time to time, whenever she wasn't in class at college or working. I asked her what she thought of my new look and she said I looked like Satan. I thought that was pretty hilarious. I said 'Well you know, my birthday is June sixth!...' her shrill laughter was priceless and I continued 'that little Damien bastard, always stealing my thunder! I'M THE DEMON SPAWN!' which caused her to erupt a bit louder. So, does this look make me look demonic?
Should it stay or should it go? Most of me likes it and to an extent I don't mind using this look to fend off anyone who didn't already know me who'd think I looked spooky, evil, or satanic. I can't say I'm keen on people who'd jump to stupid conclusions on looks alone. BOO! Whatever. :) >:)

Strange TV favorites

Over the years, I've watched some of the strangest stuff tv had to offer and enjoyed it. I remember these shows a little more fondly than other more popular and mainstream shows I've seen over the years because while some of these weren't the best shows or even good shows, they were a refreshing change from other popular shows of those times. I could have gone on to list every series I liked, but it'd take long and I'd end up feeling depressed recalling the unbelievable amount of time I've blown on TV.

Monsters - This was a pretty simple show. There was no theme you had to keep up with from week to week, just one stand alone episode after another. Some were alright, some were really corny but it was fun to watch. I'm not sure if I'd still like this as much as I did, but the odds are: I would. Locally, it always ran really late at night which was perfect.

Friday the 13th: The Series - If you haven't ever seen this, you're probaby thinking this is along the lines of the similarly titled movie, it wasn't. This show was more like Stephen King's Needful Things, only the shop keeper kicked it and two relatives who inherited the shop worked to collect the objects causing chaos in society. I found the characters likeable and the series interesting enough to keep up with it.

Werewolf - It was different than anything else on TV at the time and it was one of the first shows that got that famous "FOX" treatment where they'd mess with the schedule and cancel after barely over a season of episodes. It was like The Fugitive meets a lesser quality Howling.

War of the Worlds- This was another show that was aired late at night here. The plot followed the H.G. Wells movie with a twist, that the aliens weren't killed but stunned and put into a deep slumber. They rewakened in modern times to pick up where they left off, only without their spaceships, the had to devise new, cunning means at taking over Earth. It was creepy, fun to watch at the time and I liked the characters. I also liked the roundabout way the show had of avoiding overextending their budet by showing the aliens enrobed in hefty bag turned alien HEPA suits.

Tales from the Darkside - This dark weekly series was another one of those things I enjoyed staying up late to watch. Pop the popcorn, turn off the lights, and enjoy. It was similar to The Twilite Zone.

Earth: Final Conflict - I really liked this to begin with. It was interesting, a little corny but different than anything else. I liked the original characters and even though, over time the show radically changed to one I didn't like as much, I still watched to see how things were tied up. The last year was a real stinker.

V - When I was young, I was completely addicted to this show. I remember my father took us out for Chinese food and the restaurant had a bar with a TV that was playing it. I made a few trips to just to see what was going on. When the visitors peeled off their skin for the first time, I was pretty freaked out by it, only to love it more.

The Bionic Woman,The Six Million Dollar Man - The sound effect, special effects, and Lindsay Wagner are about all I remember of these shows. Maybe if they had their bionic operations in Switzerland, they wouldn't have sound effected so loudly.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - Time travel, a robot council, Wilma, Some feathered guy named Hawk, mutants and aliens bent on destroying earth. For some time, my favorite lines from this show was "biddi biddi biddi.." spoken by the robot Twiggy who remided me of Tattoo from Fanstasy Island. The shiny suits were also pretty cool too. A few years ago, I revisited this show on SciFi and what changed was I didn't like Buck as much as I did as a kid... But I still liked Wilma. Also, Jamie Lee Curtis starred in one of the episodes.

Something is Out There - I thought this show was pretty cool. Not only did you have aliens in it, but the bad one was always up to some plot and the good one provided some backstory as to what it was and why it was so bad. According to the link, there was only a few episodes, but I could have sworn there were more than that. I also had a crush on Maryam D'Abo.

The Outer Limits - My favorite, slightly beating the twilite zone. The old ones are definite classics, but I loved the new ones maybe a litte more... They always offered some original and refreshing story that allowed me to escape into and contemplate the storylines.

Of course, there are a ton I'm not listing. Current or recently ended shows, really popular and unique scifi shows I've also enjoyed watching like Farscape, a few of the Star Treks, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, and others running overseas that I haven't had the chance to see in their entirety (blakes 7, red dwarf...). If there are any you like, drop the name, I most likely have seen an episode or two.
