I remember dragging it with me and insisting it be read to me often as a kid. I had a lot of books, tons of ones with better illustrations and intricate stories, but this damn cute little puppy is the most visible and instantly remembered of all that I had.
I think everyone had this book as a kid, or any assortment of those "Little Golden Books". Of course, I think in my house they were all religious themed.
