QotD: Groundhog Day
If you had to live one day of your life over and over again, which would you choose?
Pick only one? That's heartless! Kidding.
I marked one entry as a memorable day back in 2005. I had a lot of fun and really needed it. It also happened to be my birthday.
I have had other good days too but this one just stands out to me big time.
Today was such a great day. I wish it didn't have to end. I think people should have more than 24 hours to enjoy a good birthday. I think, without a doubt it'll be a happy day tomorrow too... a Happy hangover if you will.for one - earlier I didn't mention that I managed to wake up at 9am and took a shower. My sister was a little weirded out by it "you're up!?" she said. "Yeah... I was too... sticky!" I replied. The humidity here has been SO HIGH she knew what I meant and laughed. Seriously, heat in itself is one thing... the humidity? imagine taking a jar of honey and rolling around in it! and then go into that heat. very uncomfortable.
For lunch, my sister took me to Unos for pizza and we both wanted the same pizza - chicken and wild mushrooms. We had a nice talk and did a wee bit of mall walkin'. Then when I got home, she gave be a present, two shirts -- two very nice Nautica shirts! One was a polo and another was a button up beige with some light green leaves on it... not all over, it's subtle and very nice. It didn't quite fit, but I told her I didn't want to exchange it, I wanted to lose the weight. Today has knocked me off course of that... but it's all good. Birthdays don't happen everyday!
Later, my other sister Jay came and took me to Olive Garden and it was great. We both also wanted and ordered the same dish -- some chicken with artichoke hearts with carbonara sauce (alfredo with ham)... they called it something else or course. Then before we left, my sister had the sabotaged me and had the whole waitstaff sing happy birthday to me and bring me this mini chocolate cake. I was beside myself. Last time someone had done that to me was 10 years ago and it was also her! she laughed because when they started singing my eyes bulged out and I blushed bigtime! Inside I was thinking "NO!!!" but before i could react the damage was done and I enjoyed it! I owe her one... maybe two now! After, she took me to borders for a Starbucks coffee! She pushed all of my happy buttons, I love their coffee! There I also bought a book on Javascripts. Guess what I'll be doing this week?
After we left, she headed over to my other sisters Lindas, who baked me her famous chocolate mayonnaise cake -- I know doesn't sound like it, but it's heavenly. She also makes terrific frosting... MMMM! Then, instead of taking me home, my sister (who took me to olive garden, took me out to miniture golf. We started about 9pm, my niece was pretty psyched too. We played a round while swatting away our legendary mosquitos! they were quite rabid, but luckily we were all wearing pants so we may have escaped unbitten. I somehow managed 2 hole in ones and thats odd because I can count on my hands the times I've went to miniture golf. After we all got some popsicles. I can't remember the last time I had one... It was nice.
I can safetly say that today was the best birthday I had in years. Today I felt like someone recharged me! Last few weeks have been rough looking for, applying, and getting the run around from companies. I needed a day like this!
Hopefully, when I'm employed we can share more like this.
