Macbook Air
It's pretty ... OVERPRICED! Granted all those innovations cost money but no optical drive? That can make for some 'take everywhere' problems. Imagine you're out of town and you need to install a program you thought you didn't need... If it isn't downloadable and only available on disk AND you're not near a network with an optical drive that can be shared, you're pooched! Of course, in time, everything will work itself out but for now it's slim, light, yet seems inconvenient. They probably could have made it thinner if they incorporated touch sensitive optical keyboard. That will come next year. God... $1800. that's some expensive lap warmer.

It's like designer jeans versus store brands or Dior versus Old Navy. Teh function is similar, but image and brand is part of the price.
I'm a bit wary of the optical drive missing, but realistically, I could see me using one of these and being completely comfortable with it, and its networking abilities. I live and work in a Mac environment, and rarely need to network with unknown or unplanned computers. If me and all my coworkers install the remote browser on our stationary Macs, then we will all be able to work seamlessly at each other's houses and such.
is it cute? you betcha.
is it the next best thing? i think the jury is still out on that one.
is it on my wishlist? nah, i'll stick with my macbook pro, and its whopping 1" thickness.
I'd pay $2k for a decent laptop (heck, it'd be awesome), but I wouldn't for the Air.
Backlit keyboard with ambient light sensor for automatic adjustment of keyboard illumination and screen brightness.
